Architectural elevation through bespoke design
Bespoke joinery was used throughout The Hedingham to respond directly to the scale and proportions of the house type, giving key rooms greater architectural presence and a more established, permanent quality.
In the lounge, a purpose-built unit incorporates the fireplace within a wider composition, creating a focal point proportionate to the generous scale of the room. Its traditional detailing strengthens the Classic Country character while giving definition and structure to a substantial living space.
The study takes an equally tailored approach, with integrated joinery designed specifically around its function as a dedicated home workspace. Beyond providing storage and practicality, the fitted design demonstrates how the room can become a fully resolved part of the home rather than simply an additional reception space.
Bringing the fifth wall to focus
The principal bedroom provided an opportunity to introduce architectural detail beyond the walls, with a bespoke panelled ceiling designed to accentuate the proportions of the room and create a more distinctive sense of arrival.
Rather than relying on decoration alone, the ceiling treatment adds depth and character to the architecture itself. A rich navy palette, tiered crystal lighting and layered furnishings build on this foundation, giving the bedroom the presence expected of a principal suite while remaining aligned with the refined Classic Country aesthetic.
An inspiring interpretation of rural living
Within the children’s bedroom, the wider countryside narrative is interpreted with a more playful perspective, giving the room its own identity without disconnecting it from the wider scheme.
Farm-inspired references establish a subtle connection to the home’s rural setting, while a bespoke bookshelf brings function and individuality to the room. This demonstrates how even the more playful spaces within a family home can feel specifically designed for their purpose, adding another layer of character to The Hedingham rather than relying on a standard bedroom treatment.
